This is a strange, useful weekend to be a picker. Halloween falls on Saturday, the clocks fall back Sunday morning, and the board is the biggest we've published: 1,375 scored sales run Friday October 30 through Sunday November 1, pulled from the live database on the morning of October 30. Here's the top of the board and how to work the quirks.
The top of the national board
Eight estate sales share the weekend's top estate score of 96. Every one opened Friday and runs into the weekend — check the sale's own page for its exact days before you drive.

The through-line is the same one the data keeps repeating: photo depth. The weekend's 71 sales scoring 90+ carry a median of 393 published photos. The Lexington sale's 882 photos are the deepest look at a house anyone is offering this weekend — you can practically inventory it from your kitchen table.
Palm Beach County's board is led by the Retro Lake Worth sale — score 92, 388 photos, run by Estate Sales By Ellyn — with the Blue Moon clock-and-jewelry sale in Palm Beach Gardens (84, 305 photos) behind it. South Florida runs about 83°F Saturday with scattered thunderstorms possible (~50%), so the early route matters: get the estate stops done before the afternoon weather and the Halloween crowds build.
Working the Halloween quirks
Saturday splits in two. The morning belongs to estate sales, as always. But Halloween afternoon and evening pull a second wave of yard sales along with them — neighborhoods that coordinate trick-or-treat traffic often run multi-family sales into the afternoon, and sellers would rather deal at 4 PM than pack it in. Check your city's yard page again Saturday midday; this weekend's yard board already holds 755 yard and garage sales in 501 cities, and the late posters are still landing.
Sunday hands you an hour. Clocks fall back at 2 AM Sunday — the only morning of the year when an 8 AM start asks less of you than usual. Spend the hour on the discount day: most of this weekend's board opened Friday, so Sunday is last-day pricing on what survived, and the extra hour means you can hit a second discount stop before the crowds that slept in arrive.
Costume crowds change the door math. Family traffic at neighborhood sales runs high on Halloween and those buyers are browsing, not picking. The competitive pressure at estate sales is roughly normal; at yard sales, expect slower browsing but softer negotiating — sellers in party mode want things gone before the evening.
Friday already happened — use it
Here's the number that shapes the whole weekend: 953 of the 1,375 sales on this board opened on Friday. Only 385 open Saturday and 40 open Sunday. That means Saturday morning is not a board of fresh starts — it's the second day of a board that mostly started yesterday. Second-day estate sales have been walked, but they haven't been emptied: the opening crowd takes the obvious pieces at the obvious prices, and the deep houses on the top of this board — 400, 600, 800 published photos — do not get picked clean in one day by anyone. If your top estate pick ran Friday, go Saturday anyway with a list made from its photos; you'll shop it with a third of Friday's crowd. Sunday, those same houses are on last-day pricing. The weekend rewards the picker who treats Friday's start as a head start on research, not as a missed train.
The 80s band deserves a sentence of its own in a weekend plan: 232 sales score 80–89, and in most metros that is the real route — the 90s are a handful of anchors, sometimes in somebody else's county. Build Saturday around your local 80s, and let any in-range 90 be the first stop, not the whole plan.
Field notes for the dark
Sunset comes early this weekend — close to 6:30 PM in South Florida and earlier further north — and trick-or-treat traffic peaks right at dusk. Afternoon yard sales near neighborhood events mean kids in the street: slow down, don't block driveways you're not shopping at, and don't be the van idling across a family's Halloween photo. Porch-light etiquette applies to picking too: if the sale's over and the lights are off, the sale is over, whatever the listing said. Nothing on any board is worth being the story a neighborhood tells about resellers.
And set the clock by the sale's own listing, not by habit: Sunday's fall-back means your phone handles the hour for you, but a start time you wrote down Saturday night from a flyer is in the old hour. The pickers who lose an hour this weekend are the ones who gain it twice — once in bed, once standing in a dark driveway an hour early.
The weekend plan, compressed
- Saturday, early: your top-scored estate anchor, then the 80s clustered near it.
- Saturday, midday: re-scan the yard page; work the neighborhood multi-family sales before trick-or-treat hours.
- Sunday: discount-day route with the bonus hour — Friday's big houses, last-day prices.
