How the FlipWire Sale Score Works

Every sale carries a 0–100 score. Here is exactly what it reads, what it refuses to touch, and how to use it to plan a Saturday without fooling yourself.

Published October 29, 2026 · FlipWire

Every sale on FlipWire carries a Sale Score from 0 to 100. It is the first thing most members sort by — so here is exactly what it reads, what it deliberately ignores, and how to use it without fooling yourself.

The signals it reads

The score is computed from verified listing signals only — facts the estate-sale company itself published in its listing:

What it deliberately ignores

What a high score is — and is not

A 90+ score means: this listing shows a lot of photographed, categorized inventory, at a sale you can walk into, on a schedule you can plan around. It is a triage tool for your Saturday — a way to decide which driveway you start in — and it is never a profit promise. A packed house can still be priced at retail by the company running it, and a thin-looking listing can hide the one underpriced piece that pays for your weekend. The score reads the listing, not the price tags.

Scores are computed from the listing as published. When a company updates its listing — adds photos, firms up the hours, releases the address — the score is recomputed on the next pass, which is one reason a Thursday ranking and a Friday ranking of the same sale can differ.

How members actually use it

The one-sentence version

Sale Score, 0–100: our ranking read from verified listing signals — photos reviewed, inventory categories, open entry vs. appointment-only, sale length and timing. A triage tool for your Saturday, never a profit promise.
